hot days and hallways

Yesterday was a hot one! The city has been truly gorgeous this past week and yesterday may have been the finest. I was so inspired by the day and by the fact the Richard was finally driving up from Los Angeles with the rest of his stuff that I decided to finish the hallway. The finishing touch was a slightly altered version of the Cole & Sons wallpaper that I adore (thank you kinkos oversize enlarger) Now all thats left is putting up a curtain over the door to keep hallway light out at night and of course hanging art. Here is our hallway in its various stages.

What a satisfying project that was. Today we unpack Richards U-haul truck. He says he has 30 boxes....I have no idea where its all going to go but it is so great to have him home!

Have a great day!

How did you do the wallpaper? Did you just start with an actual sample of the wallpaper, and enlarge it? What did you use to stick it up? I'd love to do something like this in my place... got a few spots with a foot or two of empty feet above the molding...

I enlarged a small piece of the wallpaper that I had. Since it was enlarged on a copier the paper is thin like regular copy paper. The only way I could get it to look smooth was a few carefully place staples and Golden Gel Medium to smooth down the seams. thanks for looking!

Looks fantastic, I might have to try something like that in my hallway or bedroom closets. Actually, everything you've posted has been inspiring. Now, if only you had a landlord-friendly solution for ancient linoleum that's peeling up at the seam... btw, how old is your place?

I love this look! In addition to the wallpaper, love the sleekness of your walls...from the pics, looks like they were plastered. Any hints to getting them to looking so fantastic?... as I will be tackling this plastering technique to my hallway (I am using a Behr plaster product from Home Depot.)

zzzkat-
I am not familiar with any plastering products from Behr. If you look back to my blog post from October 5th I talk a little about the plaster wall. I hope that helps. Thanks for looking and good luck!
