As yesterday wound down we realized that we have not really taken any days off from this project and that we were starting to get a little cranky and generally exhausted. We are both driving down to Los Angeles today to pack up Richard's apartment and studio and move him up here. I think a long drive and a few days out of the apartment is just what we both need.

We still managed to have a pretty strong day yesterday. Richard planed all of the sticking doors in the apartment which is wonderful. We no longer have to slam doors or pull doors to get them to open and close. With this new development I was able to take a shower in the new bathroom without having to put a door jam under it to keep it closed. I mean I love my door jam but its nice to be able to close a door and not have to struggle with it. (see photo for adorable door jam)

Here are the before, while in progress and after photos of the bathroom. In addition to getting the door planed We were finally able to get the shower rod up. I was so happy I almost cried. I think thats when I realized I needed a few days off.

as you look at the after photo please keep in mind two things: 1. we are going to be bringing in a vintage medicine cabinet next week so the mirrors are temporary and 2. pretend there is a pedestal sink in the after photo. As soon as we have everything out of boxes and organized we will be getting a new sink.

We were able to make some progress on the office. We finally put up shelves and ran all the wires where they need to go. I am posting a picture of the new office with a before photo. I still need to put up a lot of cute goodies on the walls but this will have to do for now.

We weren't able to get the bedroom chair rail project together this week but that is the main focus for next week. FINISH THE BEDROOM!!!

Have a fantastic Friday!

Okay, you guys are officially my heroes, seriously! I feel so re-energized to get work DONE on my house after seeing all you've accomplished in such a short period of time. THANK YOU. Your place is looking fantastic, and it's really exciting to watch it all come together at such a fast pace. (I'm trying really hard to convince myself that it's taking ME forever because I have to deal with stuff like furnaces and hot water heaters and electrical panels...but seriously? You are kicking serious ass here. I bow down to you!)
